If you need a top for very cold weather, this is ideal. It is soft and comfortable. Warning: I found myself overdressed when on holiday in December in Turkey and was sweating in this (in addition with more layers). We were told that it is freezing cold there and it actually wasn't. So yes, ideal for very cold weather.
